The Dargah Shareef of Hazrat Rahman Baba (RA) is situated in Belapu
Village of Upudi District in Karnataka State of India.
As a specialty of the Urs-e-Shareef vegetarian food unlike elsewhere
across the coastal district, is served to all the devotees on Urs
occasion of this great sufi saint.
A traditional ‘Qawali’ and other music performances were staged during
the night till the early hours next day of urs-e-shareef’s morning
Many residents of Belapu gather at the Dargah Shareef for the
night-long traditional musical extravaganza. The annual gathering also
promotes communal harmony and brotherhood among the diverse cultures
and faith.
It’s a tradition that a crew from Shimoga Dargah exclusively performs
Urs-e-Shareef at this Dargah assisted by the religious men of the
local Dargah.
The Belapu Dargah Shareef is situated in a picturesque setting
inspiring spirituality among the devotees that throng here. More than
10,000 devotees attend the Urs-e-shareef every year.
